PR-Tracker can connect over a network in more than one way. It can connect in file-server mode or client-server mode or both. The way that PR-Tracker should connect over the network depends on whether the computer acting as PR-Tracker server was configured for file-server mode or client-server mode (see Installing PR-Tracker on a Network, step 2).
If you choose the option to connect in client-server mode, you must enter the Server and the PR-Tracker Username. The Server can either be the name of the computer or its TCP/IP address. The Username is probably your first and last name, for example John Doe.
If you choose the option to connect in file-server mode, you must specify the Username and the Database Folder which is a path to a shared folder on the network where the PR-Tracker database is installed, for example, \\servername\prtrackerdb, where servername is the name of the computer hosting the PR-Tracker database (see Configuring Windows for File-Server Mode).
