Configuring the PR-Tracker Email Notification Service

This section only applies to Windows NT and 2000 and only if you have installed the
Email Notifier to run as a service. If you did not install PR-Tracker Email Notifier to
run as a service and you want it to run as a service, uninstall it from the dialog and then install it again.
In order for the Email Notifier to run as a service, the service must be
configured to run under a user account. By default services run under the System
account. But since the System account is not associated with a MAPI email profile, the
default setting won't work. To configure the PR-Tracker Email Notifier service do these
steps:
For Windows NT 4.0
- Open the Windows Control Panel by pressing the Windows Start
button and selecting Settings | Control Panel.
- Double-click on the Services applet inside the Control Panel. The Services
dialog will be displayed.
- In the Services dialog double-click the PR-Tracker Email
Notifier service. The Service dialog will be displayed.
- Set the service to run Automatically. This way the service will start
automatically when the computer is started.
- Selected option This Account.
- Press the ... button to select the user to run the service under.
If the database is not located on this computer the user must be a domain
user, otherwise it may be a local user or a domain user.
- Enter the user's password in the dialog and press OK.
For Windows 2000
- Open the Windows Control Panel by pressing the Windows Start
button and selecting Settings | Control Panel.
- Double-click on the Administrative Tools applet. The Administrative
Tools dialog will be displayed.
- Double-click Services in the Administrative Tools
dialog. A list of services will be displayed in the Services dialog.
- Double-click the PR-Tracker Email Notifier service. The PR-Tracker
Email Notifier Properties dialog will be displayed.
- Under the General tab Startup Type to be Automatic
